Founded by Serguei Beloussov, chairman of Parallels (www.parallels.com) and Acronis (www.acronis.com), Runa Capital is run by a team of successful entrepreneurs, most of whom have worked together for over 15 years. Rob Lovell
Rob is a successful serial IT entrepreneur having experience at both start-up companies, to running multi-national IT organisations. Rob started his first business at the age of 20; successfully merging it 2 years later in 2001 to the US based, Hostway Corporation. Rob stayed for another 4 years, as UK and European President, helping build up the European and Worldwide operations from £20m to £70m through organic and acquisitive growth and helping the company become a top 10 worldwide hosting provider with over 600,000 customers. Rob then served as Worldwide Director of Alliances from 2005 at Parallels, a large virtualisation software company now with over 1,000,000 customers and aided in the company's explosive year-on-year growth. Rob also serves on the board of Robson Communications Inc. and advises many VC firms on the Hosting and SaaS markets.
Jolyon Ryall
Jo has been involved in the Web Hosting industry for over 10 years specialising in system development and customer support. Formerly a consultant programmer, Jo then went on to join the Hostway Corporation as Head of Systems, managing complex IT projects and rollouts of thousands of servers in the UK, US and Netherlands. He then went on to work as Director of Customer Experience at Fasthosts, one of the UK's largest web hosting companies, re-organising their customer touch functions and operations, before joining ThinkGrid. Jo is responsible for all IT operations incorporating R&D, Systems, Infrastructure and Customer Support.
Andre Bliznyuk
Andre is a partner at Runa Capital, a Moscow based venture capital company. Andre has 5 years of investment banking experience: headed the Russia/CIS Equity Capital Markets Group for Goldman Sachs from 2010-2011 and, prior to that, UBS Investment Bank between 2006 and 2009, focusing on IPOs and other ECM transactions in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Andre has worked on over 25 IPOs and other capital markets transactions raising more than US$20bn. He has a MSc from Moscow State University with a master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Communications.
David Pratt
David has nearly 15 years' experience in the technology industry, working his way from an internal sales role to starting his own web hosting business. In 1993, David joined ST Microelectronics, the fifth largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world, taking up a distribution sales management role. David then moved to Product marketing at TI in 1995. David’s work focused on the Nordic region, where he worked closely with the channel and direct business, before moving to a similar role covering the UK and Ireland. In 1999 and without any external investment, David started his own hosting services company, Firstserv. Within 4 years, the company had organically grown to become a profitable multi-million pound business, providing hosting to SMEs through corporate clients.
George Karidis
George is Chief Strategy Officer for Softlayer Technologies, one of the worlds largest datacentre and server hosting companies with over $300m in revenues. Prior to joining SoftLayer, Mr. Karidis spent seven years with Devonshire Investors, the private equity arm of Fidelity Investments. Previously, Mr. Karidis led business development for a startup serving the SME market, and spent more than 6 years with the Yankee Group as an industry analyst covering the telecom and IT sectors. He holds an Honors Bachelor of Commerce Degree from McMaster University with majors in finance, accounting, and economics, and an MBA from the University of Ottawa.
